This Privacy Policy describes how Deftra ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our offline-first personal finance and debt management application ("App"). Deftra is designed to keep your financial records under your control.
No Central Backend: Deftra does not rely on a developer-controlled backend to store your ledgers or debt records. Your financial data stays on your device. If you export or back up data, the resulting files remain in locations or cloud accounts that you control.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Financial and Reminder Data You Create
Deftra stores the following information locally on your device:
- Profiles and ledgers: Account names, balances, categories, tags, and transaction history.
- Debt and receivable records: Installments, due dates, payment status, notes, and follow-up timestamps.
- Reminder settings: Notification preferences, timing selections, and backup preferences.
- Generated exports: JSON, CSV, and PDF files you create for backup, restore, or sharing.
1.2 Data You Explicitly Choose to Import or Select
- Contacts: If you choose the "pick from contacts" option, the app may access a selected contact's name and phone details to help create a debtor or creditor entry.
- Files: If you import a backup or restore file, Deftra processes only the file you select through the system file picker.
- Shared documents: If you export a statement or backup and share it, the file is transferred only through the device share sheet you initiate.
1.3 Limited Online Requests
Financial data is not uploaded to our servers. The app may still make limited network requests for non-ledger features such as exchange rate lookup or advertising.
- Exchange rates: Deftra may request current currency rates from an external service using currency pairs only.
- Advertising: If ads are shown in your build, Google AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and ad interaction data under Google's own privacy terms.
