This Privacy Policy describes how Lingolate ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our language learning application ("App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy while providing you with powerful language learning tools.
Offline-First Design: Lingolate is designed to work primarily offline. Most features including translation, flashcards, and learning activities work without an internet connection. Your learning data stays on your device.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 User-Generated Content (Local Storage)
The following data is stored locally on your device:
- Flashcards: Custom flashcards you create for vocabulary learning
- Learning Progress: Your study history, scores, and statistics
- Preferences: App settings, selected languages, and themes
- Translation History: Your recent translations for quick access
This data is stored using local databases (SQLite, Hive) and remains on your device unless you explicitly choose to sync it.
1.2 Optional Cloud Sync (Google Sign-In)
If you choose to enable cloud sync:
- Google Account Info: Email address and display name for authentication
- Synced Data: Flashcards and learning progress you choose to backup
Cloud sync is optional. You can use Lingolate without signing in. If you sign in, you can delete your cloud data at any time.
