This Privacy Policy describes how Qubik ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our QR & Barcode Scanner application ("App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy.
Privacy First: Qubik is designed with privacy in mind. All your scan history and generated QR codes are stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on any external servers.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Camera Access
Qubik requires camera access to scan QR codes and barcodes. Camera data is:
- Processed in real-time on your device
- Never recorded, stored, or transmitted
- Used solely for scanning purposes
1.2 Location Information
Qubik may request location permission for the following purpose:
WiFi QR Codes: On Android 10 and above, location permission is required by the operating system to read WiFi network information when creating WiFi QR codes. This is an Android system requirement, not our choice. Location data is never stored or transmitted.
1.3 Locally Stored Data
The following data is stored only on your device:
- Scan History: QR codes and barcodes you've scanned
- Generated QR Codes: QR codes you've created
- App Preferences: Your settings and configurations
1.4 Third-Party Data Collection
Google AdMob: Our app displays advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and usage data to serve personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings.

3. How We Use Information
- QR/Barcode Scanning: Process camera input to decode codes
- Scan History: Display your previous scans for convenience
- QR Generation: Create QR codes based on your input
- WiFi Connection: Connect to WiFi networks from scanned QR codes
- Advertising: Display relevant ads via Google AdMob
4. Data Storage and Security
All your data is stored locally on your device using:
- Hive Database: For scan history and generated codes
- Flutter Secure Storage: For sensitive data (encrypted)
We do not have any servers that store your personal information.

We do not share your personal data with anyone. The only data that leaves your device is:
- Advertising data sent to Google AdMob
- URLs you choose to open in your browser
- Content you explicitly share using the share feature
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Delete Scan History: Clear your history anytime within the app
- Deny Permissions: You can deny camera/location permissions (some features may not work)
- Opt-out of Personalized Ads: Adjust in your device's Google settings
- Uninstall: Removing the app deletes all locally stored data
8. Children's Privacy
Qubik is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
